HOW TO UPDATE YOUR JEANS FOR SS’24

We all own at least one pair of jeans that we absolutely love. It is so easy to guess when that pair was actually purchased as trends in denim change every season ever so slightly -updating your pair will make you look current and give you the confidence of knowing “your stuff”. Jean trends for 2024 are shaping up to be quite exciting, blending comfort with style. Here are some key points to look out for:

1. Baggy and Relaxed Fits

The trend for looser silhouettes continues, with baggy jeans gaining popularity for their comfort and versatility. Most men do not like us wearing oversized clothes but hey, who is dressing for the boys anyway …

2. High-Waisted Styles

High-waisted jeans remain a staple. They offer a flattering fit and allow for creative styling with cropped tops (if your body allows it of course, and here we don’t mean showing tummy skin )or with oversized jackets if this is more like your kind of way.

3. Straight-Leg Jeans

Classic straight-leg jeans are making a comeback, providing a timeless option that pairs well with various outfits.

4. Denim Layering

Layering denim pieces, such as jackets over jeans or denim skirts, creates a cohesive look that is both stylish and relaxed. I have been struggling with the ‘double denim’ concept for decades now. However, I have discovered that if the wash of the top and the bottom are the same and the outfit resembles a suit made of denim,I kind of don’t mind it, somehow …Talking about having an open mind here 🙂

5. Vintage Washes

Distressed jeans and vintage washes are still in vogue, giving a nostalgic feel to modern outfits. However, unless you are a rap artist or a skater boy/girl stick with minimal distress and embellishments as much as possible if you would like to keep it classy and not leave that icky “try hard” impression.

6. Unique Hemlines

Expect to see interesting hemlines, such as asymmetrical cuts or frayed edges, adding a unique twist to traditional styles. What we mean here is aesthetically thought through edges and not chaotic, unkempt looks.

To conclude- jeans are always in vogue. However, please follow the above guidelines and always consider your body shape when investing in denim to stay on top of your fashion game. Or if you are struggling to pinpoint what, how, and why in denim, do not hesitate to pay us a visit.
